Remembrance Day Parade and Service 2021

Once again we have been invited by the Royal British Legion to attend this year’s Remembrance Day
Parade and Service in Greenford. The event will be held on Sunday 14th November 2021.
This year we will meet outside of the Royal British Legion Club, Oldfield Lane South, Greenford no
later than 10.10am. The parade will finish at approximately 11.45-12.00 at the front of the Royal
British Legion Club.

The parade will form up outside the Royal British Legion at 10.15am. The Parade will move off at
10.25am. The route will be:
1. March along Oldfield Lane South.
2. Turn left into Costons Lane.
3. Turn right onto Greenford Road.
4. Turn right onto Ruislip Road at the traffic lights, entering Greenford Broadway.
5. Turn right to enter the Greenford Hall Car Park. Walk through the car park to the exit.
6. Turn right onto Oldfield Lane South. The Parade will form up on the road, facing the War
Memorial/Greenford Hall. It is estimated that the Service will start at 10.50am.

All sections will parade together in Group order, i.e. all beavers followed by all cubs, then scouts and
then Explorers. It is up to the discretion of the Beaver Scout Leaders and the Group Scout Leaders if
they wish their Beavers to parade. This applies to Squirrels as well.

All members should wear full and smart uniform. Coats may be carried or worn should the weather
be inclement. All members of the District should wear a poppy, so if you do not have one, please
have some money to buy one with on Sunday morning. There will be a limited number available.
Everyone is reminded that we will be on public display and that our conduct should reflect this.

Talking on parade should be restricted to the control of members. Smoking is not permitted neither is
the wearing of AirPods or headphones, etc.

The Parade will be marching in either 3 or 4 abreast (will be advised on the day) with Leaders
included within this number. Please advise parents that if they wish to walk with their Group they
must travel on the pavement. This includes on the return parade.
